I WAS married and never forgot a birthday. In appreciation, I was reprimanded and scorned for reminding her she was another year older.
I realize my response here is taboo on social media, but it's true.

@RogueLoner so what would've happened if you ignored it?

@SW-User Moot. I never forgot. I was too thoughtful. 🙂
If I were to guess, knowing what I know, it's likely that she would have cried and played victim to all of her lonely, divorced or single friends, relatives and coworkers and they would have made me out to be Godzilla and told her to dump me without hearing both sides of the story...just like on the internet.

@RogueLoner They had problems, your ex, which had nothing to do with you.
I hope that I am not out of line, in saying this.

@RogueLoner from someone who was in a marraige to someone who took me utterly for granted (forget birthdays he mispelled my name 😂) I think it was lovely that you remembered and tried to make her feel special, even if she threw it back in your face. It is a shame good men and women are so often wasted on losers.

@SW-User @LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON Long after my divorce I got into a long term relationship. One day after work, I brought her home a dozen roses for no reason which she LITERALLY threw back in my face because they reminded her of her father's funeral 10 years prior. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ I never learn.

@RogueLoner that’s just wrong ☹️
Growing old isn’t the worst…. It’s who you spend it with that makes it a good journey

@RogueLoner It IS hard to learn and
B. The real psychopaths they KNOW how to find a kind empathetic person.
Unfortunately, you are not alone.
Just try to see the tiny red flags, listen to your gut. Do what feels right FOR YOU. OK.
You have time. Go for it.
Just be really mindful of what you need.
And it's OK to be alone :) It's actually better in many ways, well, for me it is.
I have a hard time as you say, 'learning' so, I am not dating for a while now.
Take good care.
