I think it’s up to the individual if the name they carry is important to them then they should choose what matters for them.
I got my name hyphenated.
Not because of feminist hang ups but a combination of liking my own last name quite a lot & I didn’t want my fathers name to die. My sons name is also hyphenated. It hasn’t been an issue for my husband. 😊
