Two different situations needing two different replies::

1) Any guy can leave his girlfriend if he is not satisfied with their relationship.. Same for any woman who is in a similar situation..

2) It is very unwise for a person to get involved with a married person.. So such a guy is making a very unwise move in that regard..

@Adstar I agree, if someone is not happy, it's better to leave the relationship. But there's a difference between leaving because you're unhappy and leaving someone for another person.

The latter is cheating, even if you didn't sleep with the person, it's emotional cheating.

@basilfawlty89 Well yes it is noble to leave a relationship before starting a new one.. Unfortunately a LOT of people ( men and woman ) will cultivate a relationship with a person they think is of higher status and will not make the transfer to that person until such time as they are confident of securing the new ""Higher status"" person. In common speak it is called " Monkey branching " As a Monkey will climb up a tree to get the best fruit at the top of the tree people will keep on climbing up that figurative tree to get the higher value partner..

@Adstar yeah, which is completely scummy in my opinion and mirrors the patterns narcissists and psychopaths have with dating.

@basilfawlty89 Well psychopaths are born but narcissists are made by our current twisted society.. There are a lot of Narcissists out there in this world,, Especially in the western world..

@Adstar I dunno about that. Psychopaths have overlapping narcissistic personality disorder, sadism and antisocial personality disorder. Malignant narcissists and psychopaths are similar. There is a genetic component in all those disorders.

@basilfawlty89 I don't think they are all genetically based.. They are similar disorders but of different origin..

For instance a solider can be trained into becoming a heartless killer without feelings akin to a psychopath.. In that case it was their hothouse training environment that produced the end result..
