A colleague of mine who's also my subordinate has sent me inappropriate emojis (kissing and the likes) few times. How do I put him in his place?

He's married, has a kid. Neither have I indulged in any sort of discussion with him other than work nor has he brought any topic up during our conversation. He sent the emojis over WhatsApp while complimenting my profile picture. I thought I was overreacting. Should I tell him anything?

It’s a tricky one but as he doesn’t seem to be getting the message maybe just tell him gently that his emojis are making you uncomfortable and you’d appreciate him saving that kind of stuff for his wife.

@Discotheque 😂 "gently tell a man that you think he is cheating scum"
@MartinTheFirst well there’s a bit of ground between what he’s doing at the moment and being cheating scum. Also , he’s a work colleague so she wants to stay on reasonable terms if possible.

@Discotheque People usually take their offense to the extremes so I don't think there'll be much ground to cover lol
@MartinTheFirst it depends on the guy I guess.

@Discotheque the guy with a wife and child that sends kissing emojis to his coworker
@MartinTheFirst yes, what he’s doing is wrong but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’d become an in the flesh cheat. Some people do just stick to online cheating, flirting, etc.

@Discotheque I mean he might not be the most rational type of person to reason with 👀
@MartinTheFirst that’s possible.
