Why do some people say that being married is like being in jail

A lot of that comes from people with the wrong match. I can’t speak for all situations obviously. But something I’ve noticed with some married peeps older than l am when I ask about why they chose their partner to marry it doesn’t make sense to me often. Like they’ll tell me they dated in high school so they got hitched... or they were so handsome/ beautiful etc or we had a baby. Don’t get me wrong I know it’s horrible when a marriage sours and not every person older than I am has a bad marriage. I’ve just noticed those that seem happy majority tell me about all the talking they did and still do with their partner. It’s such an important piece to choosing someone. Deeply knowing them & discussing all types of things far past favorite sports teams or musicians. Marriage is what you make it and if you have the right partner then you couldn’t feel confined.

Jail is better ,you might actually get laid there

I suppose once the novelty wears off.

For some its great, others not so good

They chose poorly.

It’s not jail but you always have to run everything by them. Compromise, negotiate, decorate or alienate. It’s a big mess.

People who say that either married the wrong person or should never be married.

It depends on a lot of different things
