Have you ever been the subject of a malicious rumor? Did it bother you?

One of my "friends" is telling anyone who'll listen that I'm having an affair with a married man. She's denied it, but I know she's told people that (false) story. Really pissing me off!

Yes and yes. My mother in law is a gold mine of false rumors and half truths. She’s a destroyer of relationships. I will eat cake the day she leaves my life completely. There will be balloons.

It was for many years. Finding out what a whore I was and hearing about my drug dependencies. How she raises my kids. The kids laugh about it now. I don’t care to laugh. I’d like to burn her house down. But the jail time isn’t worth the moment of joy. @LeeInTheNorthWoods
