My father works in the interior ministry as an assistant and advisor to the police minister, and he has been able to push an investigation into Edoardo and his family. I should have been wed to him, Edoardo, at the end of March but I suffered a miscarriage ten days before the day.

My father has found out how Edoardo’s family became Papal Counts, and it wasn’t through hard work founded in the church ⛪ and its welfare as might have been suggested. My father has been advised that there are things quite muddy in the realms of truth!
Edoardo has still undisclosed reasons for his desertion and he has not given any indication even to his parents. My father doesn’t believe this but he recommends that our engagement be dissolved forthwith. I have thought this anyway, and I describe myself now as ‘single’.
