It's against the law nowadays in Great Britain although people still do, it's all about Genes it's far more likely that their children will have "Mental Health" the statistics are overwhelming that's why the law was brought in to try and stop couples doing this.

@senghenydd It's not against the law in UK to marry a first cousin - you are not permitted to marry any on this list Adoptive child, Adoptive parent, Child, Former adoptive child, Former adoptive parent, Grandparent, Grandchild, Parent, Parent’s sibling,Sibling, Sibling’s child.

@CheekyBadger I wasn't absolutely sure I know it's frowned upon and I have in the past worked in Mental Health in a Low Secure Unit the statistics for children whose parents were first cousins isn't very good (I stand Corrected).
