Shortly after I joined SW I got caught up in a crazy (online) romance with a then quite active SW user... it went from following one another to suddenly (within a couple of days) making plans to meet and go away together. I realized how crazy it all was and put the brakes on the whole thing as gently and nicely as I could.

@1Dogma because I realized I was an idiot for letting myself get caught up in a situation that had a hundred red flags vigorously waving at me. I think it was me being so new to connecting with someone online that I let my emotions run wild... you don't go from hello to let's chuck everything in our lives and run away together in a matter of a couple of days.

@Ontheroad hahaha yeah but if running away means to have fun for awhile could be nice. unless you wanted it really serious like leaving your whole life for a new adventure in only a matter of two days, that's insane.

@1Dogma I agree - running away for a weekend is one thing, but anything more than that is nuts and that was what it was... or was supposed to be the plan.

@Ontheroad well, it could be a good meet-up...who knows what could happen, a lasting friendship or a passing fancy but you had cold feet for the adventure.
