A man should be the primary income holder in a marriage.

If you are married where there is a "his money" and "my money" mentality.......then who makes the most matters to those people. But if you are JOINTLY married in all things and whoever earns whatever don't matter because it all goes into the same account for the benefit of both............why does it matter who makes the most?
