A man should be the primary income holder in a marriage.

A friend of mine said I was wrong but I stand by my statement. What do you'll think?

yes because if you have kids the woman will be needed at home at least for a time
@Penny Only until they're weaned at most. Even before that she can express milk to be given by bottle.

@NortiusMaximus have you any notion of what most men are like? can you imagine most guys keeping a house sanitary after what the kids do it to it without losing their minds? i'm sorry but men are not to be trusted taking care of children. its generally just not in their genes or natural for men to be nurturing like that. men also couldnt handle being in a subordinate position financially without psychological damage lol. not saying it cant be done at all but not likely for the most part. it would take a special kind of man i think.
@Penny I suppose I must be "that special kind of man" then, just like millions of other men.

@NortiusMaximus most men cant wash a sock lol (at least in my experience) which probably is limited but anyway. i stand by my stance. i am glad you managed it okay. :)
@Penny You can't have met many men. In my experience men are often better at housework than most women.

@Penny My husband was an excellent house-husband and full-time stay-at-home father. I'm sure he did a better job than I could have. It would have made no sense for me to give up a high paid career to stay at home and struggle financially on what he could earn.

@Caroline259 yes that would make sense
