A man should be the primary income holder in a marriage.

A friend of mine said I was wrong but I stand by my statement. What do you'll think?

"Should" makes it look like an over all opinion for women being depending on men and their money. To me that makes it look stupid and going against equality which I firmly support. You can make it "your" personal choice for yourself, but why make the rest of us live in misery when most of us have other hopes/wishes in life. In my view it's simply an idiotic statement.

@SUPERVlXEN I agree and I also think those who suggest a man should work 80+ hours are equally mundane. I did notice all of their serious work was done by men..... :/

There's two things that matters in this, it's equality and the right to make a personal choice. If one wants to be depending on someone, it's their personal choice. If someone wants to work 80+ hours, it's their choice. The one shouldn't be depending on the other, or vice versa. A couple would have to do as it suits them the best, within a mutual agreement/understanding.

Edit after reading your edit: I'm not sure how to interpret your last sentence "I did notice all of their serious work was done by men....."

@SUPERVlXEN Yes and I fail to see why the male should be the breadwinner any longer, and my comment about 80+ hour was really a response to someone to another thread I can't comment on. I'll make that clearer only males become neurosurgeons

Ah, I see. I did not read that users word salad. I've experienced their viewpoints previously around this place. It's not worth the efforts to engage with them.

@SUPERVlXEN The idea is prevailing though, even about work (regardless of gender), since the idea got enough hearts. And it makes me feel, you don't want a parent at home?

I'm again not sure what to make of your last statement. I wish you a lovely day.

@SUPERVlXEN Well, the prevailing theme in this thread by the op and TheCarpenter, only those who work a lot are deserving. I resisted naming, thus the confusion. I used you in the royal sense.
