Does your family support your marriage?

Some did from the start, others took awhile to accept it while a few do not accept it. I consider it their loss. It's mainly the older members of the family who aren't happy I married a man.

Not married, but living together. Engaged on Sunday....

So, been together 3 or so years, living together, and my folks have been simply wonderful....but, my man's? To them, he's come out as gay but, to him, he's just in love with this 'woman with extra bits' (ie, me!) here...as I live my life as a woman...so, I think, they have a little bee in their bonnet over that stigma.

So...my family? Yes. His family? At face value.

I am not married but it wouldn't matter if they did or didn't as I am too old to care about their opinions of anyone I date now. If you are happy they should be happy for you.

Hmmmm...

So, bit of background; My mum used to date him, so I think at first there were trust issues, rather than still-in-love concerns. But he won her around and, I think, she's pretty much our biggest champion...likewise my dad.

His family? His mum doesn't like me, but his sister does. Unfortunate but, there it is.
