The clothesline is up!!

A while back I posted about how one of my little but ongoing marital issues is that I like hanging laundry outside to dry, for practical and nostalgic reasons, while my wife does not and has never wanted a clothesline. Well, with the encouragement of SWeeps who commented on that post, we compromised and I get to hang my laundry outside. I am happy :)

Our HOA wont allow them but my neighbor has a portable one she uses in her patio.
Sometimes her underwear ends up in our backyard lol.

@Adrift The idea of an HOA is something foreign here. The local council has basic rules. But beyond that we do as we please..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman We do to because the neighborhood has aged out and most of the original people that bought here have either moved or died off.

@Adrift It just seems odd in a country that pushes freedom to have so many people making rules..But I get it..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I would have never bought into it myself but it seems like every new neighborhood has one.
I can understand having a common interest community such as golf course or horse trails and such that members have to agree to maintain, but most are just new housing developments designed to keep the riff raff out of the neighborhood so the builders and real estate companies can sell more properties.

@Adrift Isnt it a shame that there are enough riff raff around to make that argument valid? Now I can see the value of something like Neighbourhood watch. But it has to be something you opt into. If I moved into a home I would want to opt out of the HOA..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman The only way to opt out is not to buy in the area.
Its part of the sales agreement.

@Adrift I figured as much. One of the many reasons I wouldnt want to live in America. (And before anyone says it, I am sure there are some here equally glad about that..😷
