Should l delete the photo of my wife deceased?

I can’t seem to say goodbye even if seeing it causes me much distress 😓

No
There will come a time when you will want that photo back. The pain will still be there but will be more manageable. I speak from experience. I lost my wife to cancer 4 1/2 years ago. There is no way you can erase (in my case) 52 years of your life together. It's okay, that is an important part of you.

A photo of her dead body? Not something to look back to that exactly sparks the best memories. If I saved that I’d probably find myself looking at it in sort of a morbid bottom-dwelling sort of fascination. Not the best state of mind. If it’s truly causing distress maybe it does need to go. Get lost in all the pictures you have of her from when she was still full of life as an alternative perhaps.

No, I wouldn't. You may regret it. Maybe just don't look at it too much right now until the grief eases a bit? 😔

@Magenta YES! My late sister had THAT personality to avoid pics. We decided not to put up a pic at her funeral the passport pic she looks mean! Driver license she looks like a student and one of her in the Newspaper (Charitable award for her 10 year service) someone else is in that pic but she does have a smile at least.

So, we only have 3 pics in the whole world.

@Sazzio Aw, wow that is not many at all. At least you have those. 💜
I have a picture of my mother on my desk. But all the other old family and friends photos of those passed and still living, just make me sad and sort of a disconnect, so I almost never go back through them.

No, don’t delete it, takes time to get over losing them.

Do you have kids? Keep it for them.

Sorry for your loss. You could print out and put the pic in a frame?
A question only you can answer as grief is a very individual experience.

I think you should keep it but put it away somewhere safe. All of mine have been put away.
