I Believe Long Distance Relationship Can Work

They can. Mine was for around 2 years. Met in a music exchange group. So right away we had music in common. He introduced me to jazz and upon discovering my weakness for romantic vocals he sent me artists that I have never hear of. That enabled me to see and hear what I wasn't able to before.
Yes we met. And our 'honeymoon' was incredible. All I dreamed it could be. We traveled a lot. Life was Christmas every day. Then 6 years ago he had a major stroke.
One evening I came home from work to find him in the floor of the bedroom. My world fell apart. He is now in a nursing facility. Cannot speak anything legibly. All is garbled like baby talk.
Alas I gave you the bad side. Not to scare you, but to let you know there may always be the other side of the coin.
When he fell ill, I felt obligated to notify his brother. I hoped I might get help with his care. Giles refused.
I cannot bring him home because this house is not Wheel Chair accessible. I have a bath tub, but to get him in and out would be a great chore in lifting.

I have a 'friend' I sometimes go out with. To see a movie or perhaps a dinner. We often will sit and watch a film on the T.V.
And I feel full of guilt in betraying my husband.
November I will be 67. I have little to account for this life. And less to look forward to in my tomorrows.
It's the GUILT that weighs heavy on the shoulders.
