Can be days, weeks, months, years.... often depending on what you shared together. My last partner we both lost parents together, one at the beginning of our relationship, and while it carved a knife into our relationship it also drew us closer, then we kept friends after we separated, in that time she was losing her father, couldn't drive to the station to see him so I helped her, it took a toll on my heart, watching her cry and cry while he had also become a father to me...

So there is no timeline... other than knowing what your heart wants and following her intent.
