I Am In a Long Distance Relationship

I don't think I can keep doing this. I want to see him all the time & feels unnatural that we live such seperate lives. I've been hinting at ending it yesterday as it might be for the best before it gets any deeper. I haven't heard from him today as we normally message or text constantly every day.

To make things more complicated someone I'd been briefly seeing before the long distance one has been trying to see me again. I ended that cause he was going through a divorce and moving out of his family home. His divorce is finalized & he's got a clean slate.

Ugh what does a woman do

Have you ever actually met this person? Do you have any specific plans to get together in real time and space? If not, then my perhaps old fashioned opinion is that you are living in a fantasy world.

For the details, you can read this: "The Life and Death of Jesse James" by Josh Olsen (in the LA Weekly.

Personally, if you are going to take the risk of caring about someone, I'd vote for it being someone physically present.

I've known him since we were 11 & 12 years old. We went to school together & he was my very first crush. We're actually good friends & his family love me. I moved away from the small town we grew up in & live in the city. He found me on Facebook cause we share mutual family friends

@Florence: That is a potentially meaningful and real relationship then. But plans must be made to connect in real life. That is the next step. Otherwise the situation is frustrating and stagnant.

Or...maybe...it's my age.

@greenmountaingal: so hard to have proper communication with him via texting & messages. It's hollow without the facial expressions & body language. Stagnant is the perfect description. I told him I'm going to be busy til the new year & then reassess where I'm at with him.
I'm glad to get advice from a mature gentleman such as yourself cause I'm completely lost with this one

@Florence: Well..
I am actually an old woman but sometimes we old folks are better at the kind of problems that don't involve a detailed knowledge of technology.

@greenmountaingal: apologies I'm still new on this
