Best Friends after 60+ Years.

It's been a long, long time, but after just over 60 years when my sister left home, we've picked up where we left off all those years ago. We went our separate ways, married, had kids and moved to different parts of the country. Other than the occasional visit, family gathering or phone call, we lead pretty much separate lives.
I was widowed 11 years ago and she lost her husband about 6 years ago, and since then, we've got a lot closer. Over the past two years, we've started to appreciate spending more and more time together - she's a damn good cook and I'm still pretty handy at DIY! We took our first vacation together as soon as covid restrictions allowed. Apart from our two eldest, our kids were horrified when we told them our plans. The older two just said ignore everyone, go for it and enjoy ourselves. Many of our friends have said pretty much the same.

That's awesome! Good for you two. Ignore the noise and live your lives.
