Cheating in a black stain against ones own honor

Well, people do it because they're selfish and driven by ego and insecurity. So I guess it comes down to why you'd want to give people like that your energy. I don't understand that.
And if it wasn't your husband who cheated then I also don't get making him pay for something he had nothing to do with. That's in line with the selfishness of a cheater.
Sorry but I'm just not able to understand living in the past when it hurts the present and future. Different paths up the mountain I guess.
