Why fool people?

So I have these family members on FB and all their family pics are so happy and perfect and people are commenting on a great marriage on facebook but I know the real them and how they hate each other and all the fights and tears... Why are they fooling everyone?

I think it's because that's the only way they can live that fairytale life, by pretending everything is great and they feel validated by others "liking" their stuff.
