Why fool people?

So I have these family members on FB and all their family pics are so happy and perfect and people are commenting on a great marriage on facebook but I know the real them and how they hate each other and all the fights and tears... Why are they fooling everyone?

most likely their "friends" on FB don't need to know their business. You don't need to share everything with others once you put things out online and FB often includes friends and sometimes co-workers or networking type communication much different than on here.
