Husband's tender answer

My husband asked me the other day if I took it for granted that he would take me back after all my wandering times. I told him no, that I was scared that he wouldn't. I added that I was very glad that he did. We have survived 58 years.
Then I asked him why he did that I had really hurt him badly with my infidelity. His answer surprised me.
He said that it was a whole lot easier to forgive me, try to understand what happened and to work things out than it was to go through the agony of a divorce. I lay here in his arms so grateful for my husband and the strength he has had to stay with me all these years. All the years together since we were two teenagers in love he has really loved me.❤
