That’s kind of splitting hairs . Being needed is a two way street . If you want to be needed, be needable . That definition is fluid and is always changing as do the needs of your partner. The same applies to you, as your needs change you expect your partner to take care of it . We must adapt or be perpetually unhappy .

@TexChik yeah there are little tests in friendships to tell what type of person they are. Ask them to do a simple favor and see how they respond, and a little more next time. If they forget or make an excuse every time maybe they are a gone-with-the-wind type of friend.
