How would we know - sounds harsh, but I’m not. This is such an individual relationship thing. I have seen these remarks as part of a great relationship and a toxic relationship. I think you and your partner need to have a clean “have no go” chat to establish what is happening. We can offer comments, but you have to live with what you are happy with.

@SW-User I know almost all of his buds and I saw him with them. He acts more sensible around them. He is also sensible around me and that's one thing I like, but I mean a calm sensible way.
Well, I'm not saying they don't have such moments, but not as much as we have. Every time we are together our conversation turns into such thing in a way or another, and that makes me feel it's because of his competitiveness. Actually, I like this challenge, but I don't want it to become a competition between us.
