No one assumes that. The other way around is assumed. If you're an effeminate man then you're gay. I know more straight effeminate men than gay ones.

As a gay guy myself and the ones I know are not like that you could not tell the difference between us and straight guys unless we told you.
Its mostly the ones that are in to TV and acting that are like that.

I think every gay guy I’ve seen has been feminine. Although it’s just stereotypes 🤷🏽‍♀️
