There's some truth in it for sure. Looking for love is difficult and emotionally draining. I think you were still consciously looking for a girlfriend without realising it. Its true you should enjoy your life and kinda focus on yourself. It is hard man but you can do it. Focus on what kind of relationship you wants and think about what you wants from life too. I don't know but it worked for me....I looked all through my 20s....then when I went back to school for my masters degree, I stopped looking for lack of time and that's when I met my fiancee.
