Why do you think, when it comes to sexuality, there are more submissive people than dominant ?

Especially when so many online are pushy,arrogant and opionated ignorami?

Aren't submissives usually more amicable by nature?

I thought it was the other way around lol. I've met more dominant people on this site than submissive people
@SW-User well yeah - 'socially' speaking.... And I'd have to agree.

It's just, apparently, when it comes to sexuality - submissives dominate the population (pun intended 😏).

So perhaps the myth is true - that most peoples sexuality is the opposite of their everyday persona. 🤷‍♀️
SW-User
@BoobooSnafu I didn't even know that was the myth 😆

@SW-User me neither...

@BoobooSnafu i think it's true for the most part lol..i have my reasons
@SW-User ok... Myth might be the wrong word.

Ummmm..., 'popularised opinion'.

I've read quite a few stories of dominatri that relate how the majority of their clientele are (in life), hold positions of considerable responsibility and/or are quite powerful.
Yet sexually - they present a totally polar side.

@BoobooSnafu Interesting
@SW-User i thought so.

I assumed ones sexuality would be an extension of their everyday one.

But there is a degree of psychological logic if it's the opposite.
A yin yang thing.
@SailorMarz Mmmm,
Everyone has their reasons - sexuality is a very complex thing - and can be influenced dramatically by early life experiences and development, and potential trauma or conditioning later in life.

@BoobooSnafu Yeah I've read somewhere that every human being is capable of committing evils even though they're completely innocent and kind and brought up in a decent environment.

This phenomenon is fed by the self-selection imposed by the astronomical prices they charge for their services. People who don't hold positions of considerable responsibility simply cannot afford the habit. The sort of person who frequents professional dommes is not a good representative of the typical kinky person, and their finances are only the start of it.
@QuixoticSoul Damn me!!!

God, it's so logically apparent now that you mention it!!!

Duh🤦‍♀️... Need to give myself a moron alert! 😁

Honestly - that's so bloody simple - I looked straight past it!! ''

Thankyou for pointing out 'the bleeding obvious ' for me🙏 🤗

@BoobooSnafu It's really not that obvious especially at first glance, and the "alpha sub" thing is a super persistent myth/impression etc - I simply accepted it at face value for years myself before it just stopped adding up for me.

Tbh as far as I can tell there is simply no real relationship between these things, and I have seen all kinds of combinations over the years. There is no shortage of quiet introvert subs, or socially assertive doms who thrive in leadership roles - temperaments come in all sorts of varieties and combinations.
@QuixoticSoul so when they talk about the dynamic between the s and D... that's not necessarily the core Bonding factor - really - it's just like everybody else, and gets down to personality types.?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@BoobooSnafu No, that's usually a core bonding factor, the critical magic sauce, if it's not there nothing is going to work. How that dynamic plays out is very individual, but people have to be on the same page about those things. It's just that it's often not especially related to "real life", so to speak. All kinds of people want all kinds of different things.

And it's also down to personality types just like everybody else, too. In fact there is generally a lot of "just like everybody else" stuff all around, because it's usually just part and parcel of life if you want to lave long-term meaningful relationships.

@SW-User Do you prefer more dominant or submissive types?
SW-User
@EnigmaticGeek I’m a submissive, so I prefer a dominant partner.
EnigmaticGeek · 61-69, M
@SW-User Sounds good.

I'm now wondering if you have mistaken my politeness here on SW as indicative that I'm not a dom, or not dominant enough for you, and as a result, you decided I wasn't your type?
SW-User
@EnigmaticGeek Lol Not that. You’re not my type because you’re too old for me 😆 That’s the catch.
EnigmaticGeek · 61-69, M
@SW-User I'm too old for you? By how many years?

Now, I just want to spank you for being disrespectful to an elder. 😂
SW-User
@EnigmaticGeek By 30-40 something years.
EnigmaticGeek · 61-69, M
@SW-User I thought you'd already had a BF close to my age?
SW-User
@EnigmaticGeek Nope lol
