I have watched his concerts on YouTube for a long time. A few years ago, he was playing in Washington DC. I got tickets for my daughter and I. She was brought up on country music, so it was wonderful to see her face as the show progressed. His shows are just wonderful seen live.

@michaela2001 I'd heard of him and his music for a long time already, but I never LISTENED to it and taken note of his name until july of this year.
Even him working with sir Anthony Hopkins was unknown to me in spite on sir Hopkins being my 2nd favorite actor and a personal hero and inspiration.
It's actually a good thing I finally "discovered" Rieu when I did, because when I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat on august 31 his music helped me through the grief. It both comforted me and helped me cry when my body needed to but couldn't.
And if I hadn't had the concert to look forward to next year, I genuinely believe I wouldn't be here anymore.
