Do you ever downplay your relationships after a breakup?

I've seen a few posts on here lately someone talking about their "plantonic relationship" ending and acting like other party basically commited murder. It makes me wonder how many times I've done the same thing or how many relationships I've had where I've done the same thing. I've done it more than once. Most times I was just hurting, but still...I wonder...
