How did you get over your breakup?

It feels like I am drowning. I came home and they had taken everything of theirs out while I was at work. I want so desperately to talk to them, and now I have my final confirmation that it is dead and done. I wish they would just knock on the door. I need to accept that this is it but I just can't let that thought sink in or it will anchor me down for good.

I read somewhere that you don’t really ever get over heartbreak, but instead you get through it a little at a time. Those words really resonated with me. It made me realize that I’m not going to just wake up one morning and be all over it, and that’s ok
