Relactation

I’m a 49 year old women starting relactation so I can breastfeed my husband. I was wondering what supplements I should be taking and if anyone has succeeded at this?? I breastfed both my daughters and I was an over producer but that was 21 year ago. If anyone has any suggestions or has succeeded at this I like to know. My husband suckles at least 5 times a day and off and on throughout the night and I’m only getting little drops!! We have been at this for about a week. Just looking for some advice.

I had good luck with fenugreek and goats rue. If you can find it, Motherlove’s more milk special blend helped me when I started relactating.

You can get natural lactation supplements from your pharmacy

Looks like you are making good progress. You can try using Tens unit for stimulation and may be massaging.
Good luck.

@Nick1 Tens I would have never thought about that might give that a try.

@Piper1 I use one too! I should have mentioned that. It is great for stimulation and feels good too.

There is a benign medicine which is usually taken to prevent vomiting during a sea voyage or a long car journey.
Not a steroid or a hormone - it increases prolactin after a week or so of usage.
The name us 'domperidone' - Google it.
Of course, check with your doctor whether it's okay for you and about dosage

@Domking Thank you for your advice I have thought about trying that but for now would like to keep it natural.

@Piper1 try fenugreek seeds - it's a naturally grown spice.
