Age gap relationship can work as long as they make compromises, adjustments and give and take. 25 years is fine as long as they are in love and monogamous.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
No, gap was too large and ended up being a fling.
496sbc · 36-40, M
wish i had a relationship period
Alexsw · 70-79, M
Yes.what about you?
BlueVeins · 22-25
I don't mean to brag, but... I was 2 years younger and it lasted three weeks 😎
PrincessVelvet · F
When I was 25 I dated a guy that was 41. It lasted a year and he was a great guy, but our long-term goals (marriage, kids) were just too different. Otherwise that probably would have gone on a lot longer.
insecureliv · 22-25, F
@PrincessVelvet Thanks for sharing :)
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@PrincessVelvet I think you highlight the biggest cause of relationships ending, different life stages and different expectations..
My aunt and uncle...she is 12 yrs younger to him. He has no say in that house...poor fellow. 😅🤭
BrownRice · 46-50, F
In my previous relationship my bf was 11 yrs older and. It lasted about 4 yrs and we lived together for 2 of those years. The guy I'm with now is 20 yrs younger and so far 2 1/2 yrs but it's a distance thing. He's the only person who has truly gets me.
Nanori · F
One of my exes was 15 years older than me. It was the most excruciating, soul wrenching relationship I've ever had. And it lasted 3 years....

@Nanori Why do you feel that way about it?
Nanori · F
@insecureliv looooong story and I don't get paid enough to retell it
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Not me, never been married, yet my half brother's second wife is 17 years younger than him. His first wife passed away in 1994.
They are still married as far as I know and have been married since 2000 with at least two kids.
It can work. It has historically worked as well. Yet we bitch and moan about how "yucky" that is when we all know somewhere down the family tree it has happened frequently.
My mother's first husband was 10 years older than her. She married him at 16 in 1936 and was already pregnant. He passed away in 1952. That was common then! He would be in jail today! For getting her pregnant.

@BobGrant45 agreed!

@DeWayfarer ahh another OLD man who is delusional and wants to believe he's attractive even though the lead in his pencil turned to mush years ago! @BobGrant45 you said it was also true of the animal kingdom.. you were wrong.. about both humans AND animals..
As I say.. do some research.. IF you knew anything at all about human or animal relationships you'd know you were wrong..
https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/whats-the-average-age-difference-in-a-couple/
Perhaps you are not thinking so much of a hot young woman wanting you.. you are probably hoping for a nice young healthy carer at your age!
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3000022/
Regardless... the evidence supports what I have said about both human and animal relationships.. as anyone with sense knows.
PS I've nothing against age gap relationships.. but you are still wrong

@Adaydreambeliever see my reply here! None of that is delusional! It's fact! Already happened and can be checked!

There's 13 years between me and my husband and sometimes we notice it

Six years now with someone 14 years younger.

My hubby is 6 years older
My father was 19 years older than my mother.
The generation gap did create some difficulties in values and tastes for them.
I suspect differences in their biological age probably had a negative effect on their sex life.
They lasted for 15 years until he died when I was 14.
My husband is 9 years older. We've been together since 1983. He comes from a long lived family and is healthy at 73. The gap between us does make some differences; these days he is less able in some things than I am in some areas, but we manage to muddle along well enough.

Im curious what the answers will be.... I havent been, myself. The most was 5 years. Not much gap.
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
I tried, on and off for 5 years but ultimately the lack of maturity mattered.
Daviszabecki · 56-60, M
I have yes. Three years, she was 28 years younger than me.
Montanaman · M
10 yr age gap, granted, not Extreme, but 33 years 💞
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
10 1/2 years. Married 28
I dated two people who were ten years older than I and it did not last.
I know a lot of people who have been married to people 10+ years older than them and they are happy.

A few and it didn't work.
I look younger than my real age so they were younger than me . It didn't work well because they aren't mature enough to be serious in any relationship.

when I was 22 I was with a 35 y/o woman for 18 months, not a huge age gap but seemed big at the time
hunkalove · 61-69, M
The love of my life was 12 years younger than me. We were together off and on for 8 years until she dumped me.
Yes. My partner is 20 years younger and we have been together for a few years now.

Age-gap relationships ain't that bad if you find the right person for you. I'm 43 and a girl that is about to turn 23 likes me. She does outrageously crazy things like things any guy she wants and I don't know if that would work out with me. She thinks it's cute that color it's really not.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
it's on my bucket list

it was about you.
as for myself I feel the utter selfishness whenever I hear another young guy POSITIVE I would CREAM over his sleek young ****
when all I want is the end to this hideous hopeless loneliness
caused by age discrimination, selfishness sexism and objectification in society
and the idea that compatible couples have enough trouble w/o making things even HARDER by being so different.
while no particular solidarity over her fading memory and sagging flesh
and him glowering over his CONQUEST of something when she wasn't wanting HIM in the first place.
She already had some thirty years ago.
