It is certainly clear how this has damaged you. Because you have to ask the question at all. And because it took you 20 years to do so. Lack of appreciation and neglect will take a toll on anybody. Do not underestimate how it has affected your self esteem and self image.
It might be time to take your own life into your own hands. Find some new and fun activities, new hobbies, maybe new friends. Venture out a little. Get a picture of how people in general view you. You need to see a different reflection of yourself.
