Great fight that went on a while that really was stupid.
I’ll go first.
Years ago, all the kids still in high school or middle school, I’m driving home from work.
We’re driving back to our hometown for the kids’ spring break the next day. We’re taking the car (SUV) I usually drive because there’s more room for kids and all the stuff you need to bring. She calls me from her work to my cell.
“I just got home. How far out are you?”
“Fifteen minutes. Plus I have to stop for gas.”
“We just filled up the Chevy last night.”
“No, we were in your car last night.”
“No, remember? The credit card didn’t work, had to use the other one.”
“True, but we were in … I’m looking right at the gas gage, it’s at 1/4, that won’t get us out of the county.”
“You’re making that up.”
“Why would I do that?”
“You’ll do anything to win an argument.”
“I’m bringing this vehicle home and you can see for yourself.”
“Don’t be a jerk. Fill up the tank.”
“No, you’ll say I just drove home and said I filled it up.”
And we went back and forth until I got in the driveway. She wouldn’t come out and look.
I made one of my kids come out and check it.
They come out, “Mom says you’re horrible for getting your child involved and thinks you bribed me.”
The oldest had a flip phone with camera. (My phone was a Blackberry from work without a camera. I got it from her and took a picture of the gas gage.
Then all hell broke loose. I think it cost extra money to send a photo back then.
I’m not allowed to speak of it anymore.
