A wonderful trip down memory lane.
Today my husband asked me if I would like to go for a drive. I knew he had been doing some research and checking some dates very carefully. I was glad to get away and relax and see things I hadn't seen in years.
Where he was going dated back 60 years. A lot of things had changed but the memory came back.
New roads caused problems but finally we found the dam at Lake Jacomo in Missouri. The portable outhouse was gone and a nice shelter house was in its place. We parked the car a talked awhile. Somewhere within 200 feet of where we were was the site where I offered my boyfriend my virginity. His as well. He asked me if I ever regretted doing it and I said no. I said I only felt guilty because of how I was raised.
When he asked me why I decided to do it I said because I loved you. I always did.
Anyway it was a wonderful afternoon of memories and getting closer together.
Tonight was the 60th anniversary of that very special night. It ended with a beautiful bouquet of roses.
