Maybe You’ll Notice
I wonder how long it will take
before you realise
that some of these words
have always been meant for you.
I leave little clues between the lines,
small enough to hide,
but close enough to touch
if you’re paying attention.
Maybe one day you’ll read something
and pause for just a second—
because the way it feels
sounds strangely familiar.
Maybe you’ll notice the little things,
the laughter, the boundaries,
the quiet spaces between us,
the things I somehow seem to know.
And maybe, somewhere in all those words,
you’ll find the picture I never quite say aloud:
You and me,
hand in hand,
floating somewhere far from everything else,
with nowhere we need to be.
I won’t tell you.
I’ll just keep leaving pieces of the truth
where you might find them.
And wait…
for the moment you finally look at me
and realise
you’ve been reading about yourself
all along.
before you realise
that some of these words
have always been meant for you.
I leave little clues between the lines,
small enough to hide,
but close enough to touch
if you’re paying attention.
