How would you view this kind of girl in a guys life

As a brand new couple, the guy gives her the option to go through his phone any time to prove he's being faithful. And instead of the girl saying no it's fine, I trust you, she actually takes him up on it and gets into his phone quite often to snoop around. Not only that, but she actually starts replying to his incoming texts from friends. She also suddenly starts to tell him who he can and can't talk to. And blocks anyone she wishes to, even his previously established relationships that were there before her. She has an atrocious attitude towards his old friends. She also gets on his social media and changes profile pictures around and adds captions herself. She basically controls his every move. When confronted by his friends of her controlling behavior, she claims this is normal because they are "In a relationship".. I do not believe this is normal for a brand new relationship. This is a true story of what a guy I know is going through right now. And he praises this girl like she is God. It's sad and kinda disturbing
