I have been re-ghosted

Someone on here I was very fond of mentioned being sidelined due to illness and I did not hear from her for weeks. 👻

Then she came back and we chatted almost every day again. Then she broke the news that she was undergoing treatment and for a while she sent updates fairly often but then 👻 no contact with me but her profile pic has changed 3 times since she stopped talking to me. I know she is alive and that she still visits this site but she has not sent word to me in a couple of months.

Maybe (probably) "she" was just a catfish who got tired of me. But I was genuinely worried about her health and it saddens me that she vanished as she did.

Do not allow yourself to grow fond of people you meet on here. I guess that is the moral of the story.

To be real, connections online feel like they carry a different kind of risk. Cause the chances of meeting in real life is close to zero, and yet, it brings the comfort that an existence out there cares about you.

But yeah, the ghosting part is often a thing that can't be helped. More often than not, reasons are mysterious. Sometimes they really can't be helped.

But for me, I have always been a believer that it's a matter of want. Want leads to will and will leads to effort. But if there isn't enough, then it will lead to nothing and that's when connection gets lost or tangled.

Always know whatever time you give someone here could be a potential waste of time . Don't ever put all your eggs in one basket or at least always expect the halve truths and just enjoy the ride while you can

@caccoon Because she had just started cancer treatment and was and am very worried about her. I would like to know how she is feeling and if the treatment is working.

It is a bad feeling not knowing.
