What if the wife asked him not to be he wants to

TimiD · 41-45, M
Public acknowledgment can feel reassuring, but privacy doesn’t mean lack of commitment. Some people simply prefer keeping their relationship away from social media, while other's like public gesture. Both can actually coexist in a genuine relationship. Moreso, social media isn’t the real measure of a relationship. What matters is how someone treats you in real life.
@TimiD That's like saying some people don't wear a wedding ring because they prefer privacy. Bit strange eh

@Magicianzini I see your point, but a wedding ring and social media aren’t exactly the same. A ring is part of a real-life commitment, while social media is a public platform. Some couples are simply more private online, even if they are fully committed offline.
@TimiD Setting your relationship status and wearing a wedding ring are just both public announcements of being committed. I can't see a difference with the exception of wanting to hide for some reason. The reason, I admit, may not always be one of bad intention .. but often is. Why else would someone hide they're committed, generally.

My dude doesn't use social media. But he doesn't introduce me to his friends or family. We've been together for 5 years. We don't go on dates. He'd never propose.

I think of us more as friends with benefits who have to live together because it's too hard financially to live alone. 🤷🏻‍♀
I’m not on the market, partner-seeking-wise.

If I were, I would not want a man to whom altering his social media relationship status was important.
There are some good reasons why a guy might be reluctant to feed Meta's data mining machine. My wife wasn't going to add our marriage on Facebook, but when I did, she felishr didn't have much choice

If any woman tries to complain that I'm not putting them in their relationship status on social media nor propose to them at all, then they will be blocked from me and have their comments removed from there to be honest!!!!
VladG94 · 31-35, M
@Troubledchick99 I'm not even saying it to be funny, this is actually how it's done with me to be honest.... I think it's incredibly dumb to promote your own relationship statuses that way to be honest!!!!

If I have a girlfriend, I wouldn't post on social media. That seems kind of dangerous and stupid at the same time.

I keep it personal for peace only.

That would get in the way of his other dalliances.
