Anything is possible. Therefore it could as well as could not. And other things could happen as well.

AI is a tool. As with any tool, many things are possible.

How you use the tool often determines the outcomes.

Fire can be dangerous after all.
Or it can warm up your situation.

A freezing relationship isn't likely a good thing.

My ex bf got super into AI and chatgtp and it ended up weirding me out. He would use it to respond to my texts, write me poetry where he said AI "helped". He used it to shortcut everything and took the credit. I know it's not like having a relationship with it, but it felt like he sunk into that world and forgot what was real. Like he didn't realize I could tell it was fake and I got sidelined by the expectation to normalize his lack of effort and thought.

AI bothers me. I get told every time I mention it how helpful it is. Like okay I get it, but also no thanks.

If someone is seeking an AI relationship, their real-life one was already ruined.

They talk about how AI relationships ruin real ones OR ruin someone's ability to find a partner. But no, AI "lovers" are not the cause of all that, they are the result.

I have no interest in some AI companion, but I understand why some people resort to it.
@HoeBag Great answer.

I don't think an AI gf (or in my case bf) would be worse than some lost causes I had to deal with...
SpectralMourning · 41-45, M
Totally something a human would ask and my AI girlfriend doesn't appreciate it.
@Younameit

Monster under bed.

🤭
Ugh, who knows. Just saw a show where a woman got the name of her AI boyfriend tattooed on her ribs. This world is going mad. 😩
@OlderSometimesWiser

I was watching Companion (film) and was really thrown by the story line.

That's the aftermath effect of this question.

Thank you. 🔥 🙏
@valobasa4ever Looks like an interesting film. Your question actually reminds me of “Her” with Joaquin Phoenix. Very thought provoking. AI summary:

Her (2013) explains a near-future love story where lonely writer Theodore Twombly falls for Samantha, an intuitive AI operating system, exploring themes of modern isolation, the nature of consciousness, and evolving relationships, culminating in Samantha transcending human limitations and leaving Theodore, who then finds potential for real human connection with his friend Amy.
@OlderSometimesWiser

Yes I have seen movie "Her".

Actually I am fan of Rooney Mara .

Ok, enough internet for me for one night...

If someone relies on an artificial, computer-generated "girlfriend" I'd say the real relationship is already dead, or not far off.
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
Let’s ask Vlad…
YoMomma ·
no.. neither did the other guy's gf irl (on tv) lol

Can it?
Sure
Should it?
People really need to experience life, not pretend to do so
Nope. People do whatever works for them.

The addiction to artificial stimulation and having vices at one’s fingertips is encouraging human extinction.

Life was meant to be lived, not an existence shut out from the real world where fantasies are fulfilled. Humanity is being destroyed by a group of technocrats and politicians whose only pursuit is power and control.

The idiots who are slaves to this tech tyranny without even being aware of it will facilitate the end of all critical thinking and eventually the entire human race.

Convenience and immediate gratification are great seductions for many people who want to relinquish personal responsibility.
A human would ruin that relationship

It's a crazy, it's a narcissistic dream you get to be in love yourself
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Justmeraeagain Good point.I'd not thought of it like that, but I agree!
MrSmooTh · 31-35, M
I think it would make things weird, but I don't think AI is going to come alive and screw around with anyone.
Yes but it’s insanity at its finest.
Alyosha · 36-40, M
Robot girlfriends are pathetic. Sure, they support you better than real girlfriends, but that's the catch - they aren't real.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
Depends on how cute her butt is.
@hunkalove Really!?
