Being alone isn't as bad as I thought it would be

I gave up 5 years ago on relationships. I've been much happier. It takes some time to get used to but it does seem to get better. I can do hobbies without feeling guilty, there's more money, peace, and I finally learned to appreciate myself as a human being.

I'm right there with you. I grew up with a mother who told me that a woman is NOTHING without a husband, so I made wrong choices and married the wrong men. 4 marriages, 3 divorces and the death of the best one 10 years ago. I've been alone ever since and it's lonely at times but peaceful and I can appreciate the no drama of a bad relationship.
