Is it better to be a person that calls on others to do things for you or not?

I can't seem to work this out.
For example I have learned how to do my makeup. I do know someone who is a makeup artist but it's never really occured to me to call her to ask her to do my makeup. Especially as I've never had a big function to attend that would require a more professional look.

Would it be better to call on her?

I have witnessed other people do this but lines sometimes get blurred in regards to a payment.

Am I thinking too hard into this or should I just be open to forking out to help them out.

Is this why I don't really have friend's?

One who does that is known as outgoing. Even though I know I can do many things myself, I refrain from doing it on my own but involve someone else.

Certain things are best done by others which can also be a barter like "you tie my hair and I tie yours".

For instance we cannot cut your hair ourselves, even if you have support of mirrors and camera. We need another. Likewise it's best to be made up by another.
