Do women care about a man's past, just as most men are curious about their partner's past?

NB: I mean a man you are considering for serious relationship

how much does a man’s past matter to you? Could it influence whether you consider a long-term relationship with him?

Or you think its not really necessary? if so why

His Past? Criminal record? History of drug use? History of being an abuser? STDs? Mental illness? Health issues? Absolutely, it all matters if you are considering a serious relationship. If anyone being considered is not entirely forthcoming, they are not to be trusted

@TexChik these are definitely good reasons to consider about a man's past

But then what if he tells you he's now a new or changed person , "born again" assuming he had a bad criminal record or was into drug in the past or was once an abuser?
