Ending a relationship

So I was finally done with my two year random emotional only texting only relationship bc I was tired of this persons shit. I finally told them I was done with them ( he’s an alcoholic) and come to find out from a mutual friend that he blocked me? Now tell me why would he be the one to block me when I was the one who ended it. I mean not that it matters. But that’s so childish and petty of a man to do so. I guess what ever

You really can't figure this out? Why would you care, if you ended it?

After taking that step, wouldn't it be odd for the other person NOT to block you??
