And you still communicate and see each other through busy lives...

If they started communicating less and stopped asking how you were, and you inquired if everything was okay and they got offended. Then they started blaming you for texting them at work as the problem, when you never really text them at work... And you understand they can't text at work, because everyone understands that... But that's the go to excuse for them every time they get distant...

Yes. I'd go with my intuition. If I'm not feeling it from them anymore there's a reason for it.
I hate when people can't be up front with these thing. Guessing and second guessing.
