Everyone views him as the villain, yet he's done everything he could and more for her. He asks for a simple courtesy, not being insulted for doing everything he can for her and maybe occasionally not making him feel bad for the few things he feels proud of .
She gets all the rewards, he'll pay forever whether on earth or in the afterlife, if a hell exists he knows that's where he's going if he doesn't survive his natural life.
