The Meeting
She arrived the other day
I couldn’t be there when she stepped off the train
A few days later we finally met
Knowing that the sun on our relationship would never set
She stepped out of the car
And I said “stand still…do not move.”
Immediate obedience, thrilling me like a shining star
As I proceeded her sunglasses to remove
In my hands I cupped her face, so sweet
Looking into those incredible eyes, so big
Filled with excitement that we could finally meet
With my thumbs I gently caressing her cheeks
“You wanted a cuddle, did you not,” I said
As I pushed my hands behind her neck
She moved closer, placing her face against my chest
I thought to myself “this is just the best”
And time stood still and was no more
And nothing mattered anymore.
