Why does ex keep calling me affectionate names?

My nex claims to be in a relationship but she keeps reaching out to me for chat and calls. When she does, she keeps calling me names like "sweetheart, darling and cupcake " I've never understood the games she's trying to play.?

I had an ex who did that, and it made me uncomfortable. It turned out he regretted leaving me and went on to try to get me back. I think your ex may be doing the same thing.
