Are losing friends part of growing up?

I used to have such a huge social circle. Now there's just a few people I truly consider friends and even then, we don't hang out much. I've lost so many friends that I thought would have been here for the long haul. And I'm hurt by it. Would love some insight from others on this.

When it happens too often you start learning how to live with it . I’ve lost so many friends throughout my life, mainly because of moving places , people finding other friends and social circle, getting into relationships etc. , so we simply have distanced ourselves. It’s part of life , people come and go.

Depends what the friendship is based on, for instance, if the friendahip is based on circumstance or just context, then when the context changes so does the friendship.

All my frienships were based on circumstance so i dont have any friends left because we grew up and our contexts became outdated and i went out of style.

Friendships are transient things in life. Some may last decades others only days. It’s important to always hold back your most inner self keeping it private since todays friend may become tomorrows stranger.
I think it can cuz younger peeps start havin kids and families then older peeps have higher chances of friends dying
